BECOMING A PERMANENT RSIDENT  

EXPRESS ENTRY

Express Entry is used to manage applications for permanent residence under these SKILLED federal economic immigration programs:

The Federal Skilled Worker Program, The Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class

Provinces and territories can also recruit candidates from the Express Entry system through their Provincial Nominee Programs to meet local labour market needs.

It is design for applicants with higher education and people with high skills in trades. In addition the applicant has to have a good command in English or French and fulfill other criteria to become economicly established in Canada.

You can also obtain PR status by being Sponsored by a spouse, child or other close relative. Both the sponsor and person being sponsored must sign and fulfill the obligations undertaken by the agreement.

After you become a Permanent Resident you have to obtaine Canadian Permanent Resident Card (PR Card), and finally after having lived in Canada for a certain number of years you can apply for Canadian Citizenship.

As a CIC Authorized Representative I use The CIC Portal for Authorized Paid Representatives. It is a secure environment which enables me to electronically conduct business, on behalf of the clients, with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (IRCC formerly CIC).
